Stefan Lopez-Cortezo

Managing Director

Established in 2002, SLC Finishes has been producing Fine Interior Decoration, Restoration and Specialist Finishes for many of the countries finest properties.

Stefan Lopez-Cortezo is a decorative artist, Finisher, surface Designer and Colourist, he studied at Camberwell College Of Arts, served his apprenticeship with his brothers company DLC Design & Build in 1992 who still to this day produces some of the highest quality work in the business. Working with some of the leading trades & craftsmen in the industry. Stefan has also trained with Armourcoat, Oikos and Vero Metal.

Stefan very quickly moved up to supervise all the decoration works for DLC by the young age of 19, carrying out high end brush finishes, Lacquer finishes, Faux finishes & gilding.

By 1999 Stefan had moved on to work with Master Gilder Julian Johnson who taught him the art of mixing Gesso's, Boles & sgraffito techniques as well as oil gilding. Working on various framing projects including many months restoring water gilt Russian Icons at the Russian Orthodox Church in Chiswick.

He has worked on The Tower of London, Windsor Castle, The Reform Club, Various projects for the Conran Design Group and as the business continued to grow SLC started to get involved in larger decorating contracts for stately homes around the country with designers such as Chester Jones & Charles Rutherfoord to name a couple.

SLC Finishes was one of the early companies getting involved in architectual spraying using airless technology. SLC Finishes also have a spray workshop in the Gas Works in Chelsea..

Many people will also Know Stefan Lopez-Cortezo as one of the Directors at Angel Interiors where he worked between 2007 - 2022 working on some of Londons finest private homes, Museums and other iconic public buildings. Stefan has now taken the decision to focus his energy on SLC Finishes.
